Contract-to-Hire

Brooksource's energy client is seeking a Software Engineer to join a collaborative Agile development team focused on delivering high-quality software solutions that drive business value. This role offers the opportunity to work across the full software development lifecycle, partnering closely with product managers, business analysts, QA professionals, and fellow engineers to build and enhance applications that support key business initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities

Develop, test, and maintain software applications using C#, SQL, and web technologies

Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering through production deployment

Collaborate with product managers, analysts, QA teams, and other engineers to deliver features that align with business goals and user requirements

Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and well-tested code

Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing to ensure software quality and performance

Troubleshoot technical issues and develop solutions that support product objectives

Provide technical recommendations regarding product enhancements, scalability, feasibility, and system stability

Support deployment activities and ongoing production maintenance efforts

Work independently to drive technical initiatives while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams

Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and team success

Stay current on emerging technologies, development best practices, and industry trends

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience

2+ years of professional software engineering or software development experience

Experience developing applications using C# or a similar object-oriented programming language

Experience working with SQL or comparable relational database technologies

Understanding of application development, database design, and system architecture principles

Experience working within Agile development environments

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills

Ability to quickly learn new technologies and take ownership of technical initiatives

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong collaboration and teamwork abilities

Experience participating in code reviews, testing, and software quality practices

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with modern web frameworks and web application development

Exposure to cloud technologies and modern software deployment practices

Experience working on cross-functional Agile teams

Knowledge of business analysis methodologies and software development tools
