Senior Program Manager – Digital Platform / Enterprise Systems
Job Summary
The Senior Program Manager is responsible for leading the end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of one or more large, highly visible enterprise programs within MHE’s Digital Platform Group. This role partners closely with Product Management, Engineering, QA, Content, and business stakeholders to deliver complex digital solutions, ensuring alignment across scope, schedule, quality, and business outcomes. In addition to delivery leadership, this role drives post-launch stabilization, operational readiness, and value realization across enterprise initiatives.
This is a highly visible leadership role accountable for program outcomes and serves as the primary facilitator of collaboration, governance, and decision-making across cross-functional teams.
Duties and Responsibilities – Program Leadership & End-to-End Delivery
Own and lead one or more large, complex enterprise programs from initiation through stabilization and value realization
Serve as the chief promise keeper for committed milestones, scope, schedule, quality, and outcomes
Drive end-to-end delivery including planning, execution, release readiness, cutover, and operational transition
Ensure teams remain focused on both incremental milestones and full end-to-end user experience delivery
Duties and Responsibilities – Agile Delivery, Team Leadership & Coaching
Coach and facilitate Agile/Scrum teams while ensuring adherence to SDLC and Agile best practices
Actively remove impediments and shield teams from distractions to maintain delivery momentum
Mentor and provide leadership to Project Managers and Scrum teams across programs
Promote Agile maturity, team health, continuous improvement, and consistent delivery practices
Duties and Responsibilities – Governance, Planning & Execution Discipline
Establish and enforce enterprise governance frameworks including charters, stage gates, and release readiness processes
Maintain integrated program plans, schedules, artifacts, and documentation across all workstreams
Ensure roadmap commitments are tracked, prioritized, and aligned to business outcomes
Facilitate Go/No-Go decisions, kickoff sessions, iteration planning, and dependency resolution activities
Maintain accurate decision logs, RAID logs, and program documentation for transparency and traceability
Duties and Responsibilities – Risk, Issue & Dependency Management
Proactively identify, manage, and resolve risks, issues, and cross-functional dependencies
Escalate and drive resolution of blockers impacting delivery scope, timeline, or quality
Coordinate across multiple teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure dependency alignment
Ensure proactive risk mitigation and issue resolution across the full program lifecycle
Duties and Responsibilities – Stakeholder Management & Executive Communication
Serve as the primary point of contact for executive sponsors and senior stakeholders
Own program communication strategy, ensuring clarity across technical and business audiences
Deliver concise, executive-ready updates, dashboards, and decision materials
Facilitate meetings, agendas, and forums while ensuring the right stakeholders are engaged
Diplomatically manage expectations, resolve conflicts, and drive alignment across competing priorities
Duties and Responsibilities – Cross-Functional Coordination & Product Support
Coordinate across Product, Engineering, QA, Content, and Operations teams to ensure successful delivery
Support product operations activities including metrics reporting, financial tracking (CapEx/OpEx), and rostering as needed
Contribute to creation of key product and delivery artifacts such as charters and user stories
Ensure visibility into program progress, dependencies, and delivery health across all teams
Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience). Advanced degree preferred.
Experience: 8–10+ years program/project management experience in software or digital environments; strong Agile background; enterprise program delivery experience required.
Skills & Competencies:
SDLC knowledge, Agile expertise, Jira/Confluence familiarity, strong stakeholder management, executive communication, dependency management, leadership in matrixed environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
Agile certifications (CSM, PMI-ACP), experience mentoring PMs, enterprise SaaS/platform experience, EdTech experience preferred.
