Job Description

Our client is seeking an Electrical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of complex building electrical systems across a diverse portfolio of public and private sector projects. This role is ideal for a licensed Professional Engineer who enjoys technical leadership, mentoring junior staff, and collaborating across disciplines to deliver high-quality, code-compliant designs from concept through construction.

The position offers exposure to a wide range of project types and the opportunity to work within a collaborative, growth-oriented engineering environment.

Responsibilities

Lead the design of electrical systems from conceptual planning through construction documentation

Develop and evaluate electrical solutions using sound engineering judgment and creative problem-solving

Perform detailed electrical analyses and calculations to support design decisions

Coordinate closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and field teams to maintain design intent throughout construction

Review and apply applicable local, state, and federal codes and standards

Provide technical oversight and mentorship to junior engineers and designers

Support quality control reviews and ensure consistency with internal design standards

Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting schedule and budget expectations

Participate in construction administration activities, including responding to RFIs and reviewing submittals

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program

Minimum of 5 and up to 8 years of professional experience in building electrical design

Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state where the role is based (OH)

Strong knowledge of electrical systems including power distribution, lighting and controls, grounding/bonding, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems

Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit

Experience with power system analysis software and lighting calculation tools

Ability to independently manage design efforts with minimal supervision

Strong communication, coordination, and organizational skills

Ability to manage deadline-driven workloads across multiple projects

Healthcare, federal, or mission-critical project experience is a plus, but not required.Company Description
