The Network Engineer is a member of the infrastructure team and participates in all areas of managing the client's Network, working with the Implementation teams, and service and support teams to provide optimal service to Radiology practices. The role has primary responsibilities for the operational support of network and the resolution of network issues, with secondary responsibilities assisting with project-related work.

About the Role:

Client is flexible on experience (2-5 years would be ideal)

This could be a flexible Network Engineer and Systems Engineer.

Looking primarily in the Columbus Ohio area, as this person will help manage the downtown Data Center and require occasional (maybe up to 20%) physical presence for Ohio-based implementations.

The role involves assisting with servers and storage, not just purely network tasks.

The ideal candidate is someone junior, eager to learn, and capable of physical tasks, who can grow into the role.

The candidate will be mentored by the hiring manager.

There is an on-call rotation, but it's not demanding as the system is stable. A new person would not be on call immediately.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn quickly.

Good communication and interpersonal skills for team collaboration.

Proactive and self-motivated with a desire for professional growth.

Adaptability to a hybrid role involving network, server, and storage tasks.

Familiarity with data center environments and physical hardware installation.

Essential Responsibilities:

Monitor network performance, security, and integrity.

Identify and resolve network-related issues in the network infrastructure.

Respond to and resolve operational issues that tiers of support have escalated by troubleshooting cloud and local infrastructure.

Oversee the maintenance of all network switches, routers, and firewalls. This includes applying device specific upgrades along with configuration changes.

Assist with common designs and modify the network to meet the needs of new projects and solutions.

Assist in designing and deploying of functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN, Firewall).

Configure and install software, servers, routers, and other network devices.

Identify potential automation for tasks.

Advise team members on technical issues and resolutions applied.

Implement security measures (. access authentication and disaster recovery).

Communicate with users when needed.

Maintain complete technical documentation. Update documentation and functional systems (IPAM, DNS).

Maintain adherence to change control process and ticket closure.

Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity, and scalability.

Assist Senior members with information gathering for leadership communications.

Collaborate and troubleshoot with vendors and other third parties when outages or adverse events occur.

Knowledge & Skills:

Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and make timely decisions.

Familiarity with Cisco and Arista routing/switching, Fortinet platforms.

Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python and Perl.

Knowledge of TCP/IP and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).

Experience with network security frameworks and control models.

Familiarity with network monitoring and diagnostic tools (., SolarWinds).

Hands-on experience with network operating systems (Cisco, Fortigate, Arista) and devices.

Experience with Fortinet, Arista, and Mikrotik would be a plus.

Experience with troubleshooting the F5 LTM platform.

Knowledge of Microsoft DNS and hosted DNS services.

Problem-solving, debugging, and minor packet analysis skills.

Experience with network change management practices and ticketing workflow.

Education & Experience:

A bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field or related certifications (CCNA, Network+) is preferred; certifications are highly advantageous.

Must have at least 5 years of experience supporting, implementing, and configuring network devices within an enterprise environment.

Prior experience in radiology IT support as a Network Administrator or Network Engineer is strongly preferred.
