Hiring: Embedded Software Engineer — Munition Systems (defense & space)

Salary: $200,000+/yr

Central Texas Recruiting is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to support firmware development for embedded hardware systems within a defense environment. This role supports firmware architecture, hardware integration, testing, validation, and product qualification activities.

Key Responsibilities

Develop firmware, device drivers, and communication protocols

Design and maintain embedded state machines

Support hardware bring-up and system integration efforts

Develop simulation and testing environments

Participate in environmental qualification activities

Implement firmware safety and reliability requirements

Collaborate closely with hardware engineering teams

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field

5+ years of embedded firmware development experience

Experience with ARM Cortex-M platforms

Strong C, C++, or Rust programming experience

Experience with SPI, I2C, UART, USB, DMA, and low-level hardware interfaces

Strong testing and debugging experience
