Senior Software Developer

About the role D-Wave is seeking a Senior Software Developer to join our Processor Software team, which develops and maintains software supporting our internal Processor Development (PD), Hardware Engineering (HWE), and Lab Operations (LabOps) teams.

This role is responsible for custom-built configuration management tools used by all three teams.

What you'll do Contribute to the full software lifecycle, including requirements definition, design, development, testing, validation, deployment, maintenance, and decommissioning Take ownership of and responsibility for bugfixes, enhancements, and new feature development for our existing configuration management software system Work with D-Wave’s LabOps team to provide stable back ends and single sources of truth for the custom front end applications they build for their own use Improve software architecture, reliability, maintainability, and performance through optimization, testing, and documentation Work closely with software testing and DevOps team members to support reliable validation and deployment of software products for internal use Mentor junior developers through technical guidance, code reviews, and knowledge sharing Contribute to process improvements, technical discussions, and development best practices What you will bring Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering, or a related discipline 4+ years of relevant software development experience Expertise in Java or other compiled object oriented language Experience designing, debugging, and optimizing software for reliability and performance Experience with Git workflows including branching, merging, and pull requests Experience with Linux Strong problem solving, communication, and collaboration skills Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within interdisciplinary teams Self motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn new technologies and domains Experience with Python, Flask, and/or asyncio Experience with MongoDB (or other NoSQL databases) Familiarity with hardware control systems Compensation 150,000 - 206,000 CAD per year (Burnaby) It is D-Wave Systems Inc.
