## Business Development Manager

**Reports To:** Business Development Consultant

**Supervises:** None

### Summary of Role

The post holder at The Bank Hospital is responsible for identifying new business initiatives, new target markets, and new products. The position will also be responsible for pitching new services to new clients with a view to increasing revenue - including corporate clients (new and dormant), government institutions, and NGOs - via direct credit agreements or through insurance providers. The position must also have a sound understanding and knowledge of the private healthcare landscape, detailed knowledge of the players in the market and the key clinicians per speciality.

The position should also have a sound understanding of the pricing of the various products/services in the various segments of the market. You will be the front of the Hospital and will have dedication to create and apply an effective business development strategy. The end goal is to drive sustainable financial growth through signing contracts with private insurance companies, corporate clients, government institutions, and NGOs, and forging strong business relationships with clients. All client activity and revenue opportunities must be tracked via the Hospital's CRM portal. The role also includes growing the Annual Medical Examination (AME) programme through corporate and insurance-funded accounts. Employee performance will be measured against defined KPIs and revenue generation targets, as well as client retention.

### Responsibilities

**Operational Efficiency**

* Understanding and anticipating the Hospital customers' and market need with focus on private, corporate and insurance market.

* Developing growth strategies and plans with revenue. (Financial targets)

* Managing and retaining relationships with existing clients and forging relationships with new clients.

* Having an in-depth knowledge of business products and value proposition in the private healthcare market.

* Writing business proposals with financial business case.

* Identifying and mapping business strengths and customer needs.

* Researching business opportunities and viable income streams.

* Following industry trends locally and internationally.

* Drafting and reviewing contracts.

* Developing compelling concept papers and proposals that meet the needs of customers and organizations.

* Closing on new business opportunities. Must have in depth knowledge of existing market opportunities.

* Finalizing working relationships and agreements. Aim for at least 5 contracts per month.

* Developing and managing timelines for multiple projects.

* Tracking all activities related to new business ventures and existing business ventures via the Hospital's CRM portal.

* Acquire new corporate clients and rekindle dormant corporate accounts through credit agreements or via their insurance provider.

* Engage government ministries, agencies, and state institutions as healthcare clients through credit agreements or insurance-linked arrangements.

* Identify and develop NGO and third-sector clients requiring private healthcare services for staff and beneficiaries.

* Drive the Annual Medical Examination (AME) programme by securing corporate and government accounts paying directly or via their insurance provider.

* Build and maintain relationships with private health insurance companies to ensure The Bank Hospital is a preferred provider and panel member.

* Ensure all revenue-generating activities are logged and tracked in the CRM portal; provide weekly and monthly reports to management.

* Achieve financial targets that are set.

**Customers Relationship Management**

* Increasing client base.

* Building longer term relationships with key customers.

**Continuous Quality Improvement**

* Constantly be aware of work process problems or bottlenecks that prevent the achievement of goals, objectives, and targets

* Develop sound working relationships with internal and external customers

* Actively participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities

### Limits of Authority

Operate within determined limits of authority in the achievement of the strategic plan and any other agreed goals and objectives as approved by your line manager and the CEO.

### Educational and Professional Qualification

* Bachelor's degree in Business Development, Economics, Finance, or Marketing required.

* Master's degree in Communication, Marketing, or Business preferred.

* At least 5 years of prior experience in marketing, business development in the healthcare sector.

* Having worked for a start-up and/or the healthcare industry in any capacity will be a plus.

* Experience working to and exceeding targets.

* Experience with design and implementation of business development strategy.
