As a Plant Logistics Supervisor at ATMI-Indy, you’ll play a critical role in supporting the flow of materials that keeps production moving. You’ll lead a team responsible for staging, organizing, and preparing production materials — ensuring the right parts, in the right place, at the right time. This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced environment where teamwork and attention to detail make all the difference.
Summary
The Plant Logistics Supervisor is part of ATMI-Indy’s production management team and is responsible for leading logistics operations that directly support production efficiency and quality. This role supervises assigned teams, ensuring all production materials, bed kits, and rebar are accurately staged and delivered on time. The position emphasizes safety, organization, and continuous improvement within the plant environment.
Responsibilities
Lead assigned logistics and support teams to meet daily production goals
Review and implement daily assignments and production packages in coordination with the Assistant Plant Manager
Serve as a role model for safety, attendance, teamwork, and continuous improvement
Conduct investigations and documentation related to safety incidents or disciplinary actions
Develop and train team members to expand their skills and efficiency
Ensure products and materials meet engineered drawings, tolerances, and company quality standards
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area free of debris and obstructions
Monitor and restock production supplies as needed
Maintain accurate counts and ensure proper assembly of bed kits and rebar deliveries
Oversee the delivery timing and accuracy of production materials
Report material shortages or deficiencies to management promptly
Support process improvement initiatives to enhance workflow, productivity, and safety
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Previous manufacturing or industrial experience preferred
Ability to lead, direct, and motivate a team
Ability to read production tickets and understand section cuts and blueprints
Proficiency in reading tape measures and working within production tolerances
Strong planning, organization, and time management skills
Basic math and problem-solving skills
Proven safety and attendance record
Ability to train employees and provide accountability when needed
Environment and Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
Ability to bend, climb, and work on elevated casting surfaces
Must be able to walk long distances and climb stairs or ladders within an industrial environment
Regular exposure to outdoor conditions including heat, humidity, dust, and inclement weather
First shift, starting at 4:00 AM
40–55 hours per week, with occasional weekends required
