Position Overview:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and timely completion of all accounting functions. This role supervises accounting staff, supports month-end and year-end close processes, and partners with leadership to maintain financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting Operations
1. Oversee daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll processing, and banking activities.
2. Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements.
3. Reconcile accounts, review journal entries, and ensure proper documentation and compliance with GAAP.
Financial Reporting
1. Prepare and review internal financial reports, variance analysis, and tracking KPIs.
2. Assist leadership with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
3. Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data across all systems.
Team Leadership & Development
1. Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff; provide coaching and performance feedback.
2. Coordinate team workload to ensure deadlines are met.
3. Promote a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Compliance & Internal Controls
1. Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.
2. Ensure compliance with GAAP, federal and state regulations, tax requirements, and company policies.
3. Support audit activities (internal and external) by preparing schedules and documentation.
Process Improvement
1. Evaluate current accounting processes and recommend enhancements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
2. Support implementation of new accounting software, modules, or technology solutions.
3. Standardize processes across departments to improve financial transparency and collaboration.
Cross-Functional Support
1. Partner with HR, operations, and other internal teams to ensure smooth financial workflows.
2. Provide financial insights to support decision-making at the departmental and organizational levels.
3. Assist with special projects, cost analysis, and strategic initiatives as needed.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is strongly preferred; however, extensive accounting experience may substitute for formal education.
2. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 1–3 years in a supervisory or lead role.

Working Conditions
