Special Educator - Behavioral Expertise (Anticipated) Needed

Location: Hinesburg Community School / 2026-2027 School Year

Champlain Valley School District (CVSD) seeks an innovative, energetic, and collaborative individual to join the Hinesburg Community School as a Special Educator with a specific focus on programming for, and providing direct service to, a caseload of students with intensive social-emotional and behavioral needs. We are seeking a professional with demonstrated leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills, who shares our passion for an integrated special education service delivery model within a multi-tiered system of support. The ideal candidate will have experience analyzing and using a variety of assessment information to develop and implement strong intervention programs, as well as directly supporting students with developing skills and independence. This position includes working closely with classroom teachers and team-based special educators to support students in accessing the general education setting.

Candidates should indicate in their cover letter any specific expertise or experience working with learners who have social/emotional/behavioral challenges, as well as any other specialized skills including (but not limited to): literacy or math expertise, co-teaching, low-incidence disabilities/intensive needs, etc.

Masters degree or equivalent in Special Education or other appropriate discipline plus 3 to 4 years of relevant experience is preferred.
