GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Regional Mobile Crisis Response Case Manager Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) provides mobile crisis response to people in crisis in their homes and other community settings within the catchment area listed above and the surrounding localities. Mobile crisis response includes assessing crisis situations and providing de-escalation and support for the consumer in crisis. The Case Manager will have ongoing support and clinical guidance from their supervisor. This position serves the assigned catchment area and will require the Case Manager to work from home, in the field, and at CSB offices to meet the needs of their CSB.

MAJOR DUTIES:

1.Provide immediate crisis supports to homes, and communities within assigned catchment area and surrounding localities across mental health, substance use, and intellectual/developmental disability issues.

2.Assist team members in the field.

3.Document all services and results in the consumer's electronic health record by established deadlines.

4.Document progress and maintains a permanent record of the consumer's activity according to established methods and procedures.

5.Oversee insurance and record keeping.

6.Communicate effectively and efficiently with Regional Mobile Crisis Program Manager(s).

7.Provide Regional Education Assessment Crisis Services Habilitation (REACH) telephone support and mobile responses as needed.

8.Collaborate with Region 1 CSBs, community partners/stakeholders, and parties involved in the consumer's treatment (including private providers, Department of Social Services (DSS)).

9.Suggest referrals to appropriate community services.

10.Completes other duties and projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The incumbent must reside within catchment area of the position or within a one-hour range on average to most of these localities, at Region Ten's discretion.

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in a behavioral health or human services related field required

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of 1 year of documented clinical experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:

• Current QMHP certification required

• To ensure the safe and efficient operation of the program, a valid Virginia Driver's License plus an acceptable driving record as issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles are required. For business use, access to a reliable automobile.

KSAS

Knowledge of:

• Behavior Modification techniques, crisis intervention, psychosocial education, risk assessments, and substance

• Use interventions

• Community mental health and public health in order to provide advocacy and enhance the consumer's treatment and access to community resources;

• The principles, procedures, techniques, trends, and literature related to mental health, developmental disabilities, and substance abuse.

Skills in:

• De-escalation and crisis intervention;

• Forming and maintaining effective therapeutic relationships with consumers, in order to monitor movement in the therapeutic process, and the ability to terminate the therapeutic relationship in appropriate ways;

• Working collaboratively in a team environment to ensure the needs of consumers are met

Abilities to:

• Analyze situations accurately and respond appropriately;

• Communicate effectively in order to facilitate treatment and relay information to others as part of an interdisciplinary team;

• Perform clinical interviews in order to obtain information and to formulate appropriate treatment plans;

• Effectively communicate in writing and to prepare written documents;

• Respond effectively to changes in the work environment in a positive and professional manner;

• Record data and complete documentation within established expectations and by communicated deadlines;

• Work in and contribute to a collaborative team environment;

• Adhere to existing professional ethical standards;

• Adhere to licensure regulations related to services provided;

Working Conditions: The Regional Programs & Services office provides oversight of regional initiatives serving nine CSBs. Solid, reliable, 40 hours per week attendance is a business necessity in order to provide continuous, organized, professional services and maintain up to date records and complete assigned tasks in order to ensure objectives are met. Incumbent is willing and available to work a modified schedule to include weekends, holidays, etc. as needed and in discussion with supervisor. Use of annual leave must be scheduled at least two weeks in advance to allow for appropriate temporary assistance to be assured for coverage. Unplanned leave is a job performance factor. This position is a highly mobile position.
