Now Hiring: Electrical Project Engineer

Location: Memphis, TN

Salary: $90,000

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8 AM - 5 PM

Employment Type: Direct Hire

What You'll Do

Discuss expectations/preferences with multidisciplinary engineering teams

Develop costs for equipment types/methods to include sizing control panels, I/O and electrical service

On-site inspections and meetings with plant engineering and maintenance

Lay out and create electrical drawing package in accordance with existing standards and in conformance to customers electrical specifications and related codes

Create controls and device communications scheme and layout

Create control panels' Bill of Materials, layouts and schematics

Specify and acquire all required parts and materials

Oversee panels construction and test check when completed

Develop programs for PLCs and Safety PLCs

Develop required HMI screens

Coordinate with installation department, field electrical personnel, and customer regarding installation requirements, locations, power drops, etc.

Assist with on-site installations as needed

Travel as required throughout duration of project to include customer meetings, on-site inspections, installation and commissioning

Provide required documentation for control systems, schematics, manuals, and training What We're Looking For

4-year degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field required

Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical project engineering required

Automotive, conveyor, or material handling industry experience strongly preferred

Field commissioning of electrical systems and components experience required

Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical or similar software for schematic and panel design required

Strong hands-on working knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, and industrial automation (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar)

Experience with VFDs, servo drives, motor controls, and industrial communication networks (Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Profinet).

Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (NEC, NFPA 79, UL, CE, ISO) preferred

Proven ability to manage projects, meet deadlines, and handle multiple priorities

Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interface with cross-functional teams

and customers

Willingness to travel to customer sites for installation, commissioning, and support (approximately 25%).
