The Systems Engineer (Desktop Engineering) is responsible for providing enterprise desktop, endpoint, and audiovisual support within a complex IT environment. This role focuses on analyzing system and workflow requirements, maintaining Windows-based environments, and delivering Tier 2 end-user support for productivity platforms, print services, and conference room technologies.
The engineer will support operational stability, endpoint lifecycle management, and user productivity by troubleshooting system issues, implementing corrective actions, and documenting technical procedures in accordance with enterprise standards.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze system and user requirements related to desktop computing, endpoints, and collaboration tools
Administer, maintain, and support enterprise Windows workstation and endpoint environments
Provide Tier 2 support for Microsoft 365 applications and services, including:
Power Automate
Office applications
Microsoft Teams
SharePoint
OneDrive
Deploy, manage, and maintain endpoints using tools such as Tanium and PDQ for:
Software distribution
Patch management
Asset inventory and compliance
Manage and support enterprise print solutions, including:
PaperCut MF
HP multifunction printers
Canon copiers
Provide audiovisual (AV) support for conference rooms and event spaces, including:
AVoIP systems
Control interfaces and integrated AV solutions
Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to troubleshoot, resolve, and escalate technical issues
Evaluate workflow, organizational, and planning challenges and develop corrective actions
Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps in an enterprise IT knowledge base
Support endpoint standardization, security, and lifecycle management initiatives Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in:
Computer Science
Information Systems
Engineering
Business
Or another related scientific or technical discipline
OR three (3) years of equivalent experience in a related technical field
Minimum 3 years of general experience in systems engineering
At least 1 year of specialized experience working with interactive, real-time systems supporting online or on-demand operations
Demonstrated ability to analyze system requirements, evaluate technical problems, and implement corrective actions Preferred Qualifications
5 years of experience administering and maintaining Windows desktop and endpoint environments
Hands-on experience managing enterprise print solutions, including PaperCut MF and multifunction printers (HP and Canon)
Experience providing enterprise AV support, including:
AVoIP-based conference room solutions
AV control interfaces and integrated room technologies
Advanced experience delivering Tier 2 support for Microsoft 365 platforms and services
Experience deploying and managing endpoints using Tanium and PDQ
Strong collaboration skills working across infrastructure, security, and application teams
Proven experience developing and maintaining technical documentation and IT knowledge bases
Current professional certifications, including:
Relevant Q-SYS certifications and/or
Microsoft certifications
