Description
We are looking for a Senior Project Engineer who brings strong technical experience, sound judgment, and a steady approach to leading Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) projects. This role is an important part of our team's success and will involve guiding field activities, supporting inspectors and engineers, and ensuring our work aligns with our clients' expectations. **This position will split time between Panama City, FL and Tallahassee, FL; a company vehicle is provided.**
Your Primary Responsibilities will include
Manage day-to-day CEI project operations to ensure compliance with contract requirements, plans, specifications, governing regulations, and safety standards.
Provide technical guidance to the project team, interpret plans and specifications, and resolve field issues while documenting and communicating decisions clearly.
Review and evaluate Contractor submittals, including RFIs, CPM schedules, and claim packages, and provide well-supported recommendations.
Ensure CEI documentation, materials records, and correspondence meet contract, CPAM, and quality standards.
Lead and coordinate CEI project staff, ensuring high-quality documentation, communication, and adherence to internal policies and procedures.
Lead project meetings and coordinate with contractors, clients, and stakeholders to support progress and issue resolution.
Manage project budgets, track labor usage, and support overall financial performance and forecasting.
Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, partners, and other project stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
Mentor and develop junior team members, providing guidance in technical, administrative, and leadership growth areas.
Support business development by identifying future work opportunities and participating in pursuit activities. What you'll need
Engineering degree and registration in the State of Florida as a Professional Engineer (or if registered in another state, the ability to obtain registration in the State of Florida within six months).
Four (4) years of engineering experience; Ten (ten) if no engineering degree held
Strong technical writing skills
FDOT Advanced MOT
Attend CTQP QC Manager Course and pass the examination
Complete the Critical Structures Construction Issues, Self-Study Course
Position requires a minimum of 40 hours a week DRMP Offers
