POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer with a strong Lean focus to drive operational excellence across our facility. This hybrid role blends traditional manufacturing engineering capability with deep Lean expertise, ensuring both robust processes and continuous improvement are achieved.
The successful candidate will spend 60-70% of their time leading Lean activities, including Kaizen events, coaching teams, developing standard work, and improving operational flow. In addition, they will own and deliver high-visibility cost-saving projects, presenting results to both the Lean Manager and Executive leadership during quarterly reviews.
This position requires a hands-on, proactive engineer who can transform processes, eliminate waste, and deliver measurable, sustainable improvements aligned with company goals.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Functions:
Lead Kaizen events, Lean workshops, and structured continuous improvement activities across production areas
Facilitate A3 problem solving, root cause analysis, value stream mapping, and standard work development
Coach operators, team leaders, and supervisors on Lean tools and principles to support daily management systems
Conduct process observations, time studies, and waste identification to drive operational improvements
Champion 5S, flow optimization, and waste elimination to enhance efficiency, throughput, and quality Additional Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and improve manufacturing processes to ensure stability, capability, and repeatability
Support equipment upgrades, layout improvements, and workflow optimization
Develop and update standard work, work instructions, and process documentation
Collaborate with Quality and Operations to address process variation, scrap, and performance issues
Lead major cost reduction projects from concept through implementation, delivering measurable and validated savings
Identify, justify, and prioritize improvement opportunities across labor efficiency, scrap reduction, cycle time, material usage, layout optimization, and automation
Present project updates and results to the Lean Manager and executive leadership during quarterly business reviews
Ensure project results are sustained through robust controls and standardized work
Manage cross-functional teams to achieve strategic objectives tied to annual financial targets MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Demonstrated experience leading Lean activities and/or CI projects
Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and production environments
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills
Ability to influence and collaborate across multiple functions
Comfortable presenting to senior leadership
Must possess the ability to work in a fast paced, teamwork environment
Must have a strong sense of urgency
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization
Must possess strong problem solving and analytical skills
Must possess strong teamwork and team building skills

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering(Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, or related field) Skills
Must be detail oriented

Must possess excellent presentation skills
Must have a working knowledge of business fundamentals Experience
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent experience
Experience leading Kaizen events independently
Background in cost reduction projects with measurable results
Proficiency in time studies, process mapping, and standard work development COMPUTER SKILLS:
Proficiency in Microsoft applications is required
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position is primarily on-site and is performed in a combination of office and manufacturing environments, with frequent presence on the shop floor. The role requires regular cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Leadership teams.
The manufacturing environment may involve exposure to varying noise levels, moving machinery, and other conditions typical of a production facility. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in designated areas.
While performing the essential functions of this role, the employee may be required to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach, and use hands and fingers to operate tools, equipment, and computer systems. The position may require occasional lifting and movement of materials consistent with job responsibilities.
The role includes occasional presentation and communication responsibilities to executive leadership, including participation in quarterly business reviews.
