JOB TITLE: Commissioning Facilities Operator
LOCATION: Brookshire, TX
DURATION: 6+ Month Contract to Hire
RATE RANGE: Market Rate
POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Commissioning Facilities Operator, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of critical facilities equipment at one of our clients' most advanced manufacturing facilities. Your role will involve monitoring and operating utility systems to guarantee uninterrupted production while upholding our client's high standards for safety, efficiency, and sustainability.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with commissioning engineers and technicians during the commissioning of the infrastructure systems
Support the facticity operations team to operate and monitor utility equipment using control systems, ensuring optimal performance, and verifying system trends. Systems include Compressed Air, and Chilled Water.
Review, manage & respond to Building Management Systems (Client) alarms and out-of-spec conditions, collaborating with engineering teams to rationalize alarms and document changes
Execute equipment startup, shutdown, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, adjusting processes based on operational needs and alarm responses
Update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and alarm cards following system design or specification changes, coordinating with engineering for review
Act as the point of contact for ongoing process occurrences, working cross-functionally with teams such as Manufacturing, Engineering, Construction, Security, EHS, and Contractors
Improve equipment and system reliability through collaboration with teammates and facilities engineers, working from schematics and P&ID diagrams
Utilize the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to monitor equipment status, create work orders, and escalate major issues to the engineering team REQUIREMENTS:
Understanding of basic mechanical and electrical system operations
Experience with chemical handling and electrical distribution
Adaptability to a flexible work schedule, including night shifts and compressed work weeks
Effective verbal and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail
Ability to wear required PPE and work in hazardous areas, including the ability to discern audible alarms
Ability to sit, stand, or walk for 10+ hours per day, lift 10-20 lbs. regularly, and climb ladders/stairs
College/technical school or equivalent work experience. Applicable documented training and/or certifications are a plus
