Overview:
The Engineering Program Manager for Engineer-to-Order (ETO), based in Horsham PA, is a key member of the Engineering team, working on complex wafer processing equipment involving wet processing technologies used in the manufacturing of semiconductor components. Working with a matrixteam of members from other internal groups and external resources, you will be responsible for leading engineering projects that have near-term revenue impact from the initial scoping phase through delivery to customer. The Engineering ProgramManager will own engineering planning, oversee reviews of technical product specifications, and ensure engineering deliverables are within schedule and quality requirements. The Engineering ProgramManager will also ensure compliance with Veeco's procedures. This position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills and coordination with personnel from multiple functional areas, including Marketing, Technology, Engineering, Technical Support, Operations, and Supply Chain. This role is a highly integrated, visible, cross-functional "driver" function that has a significant and measurable impact on the success of the Veeco wet processing business.
Responsibilities:
Lead cross-functional Engineering team to execute new tool and upgrade Engineer-to-Order (ETO) projects
Participate in customer specification and quote reviews with Operations and Product Marketing prior to quote delivery. Upon purchase order acceptance, work closely with Marketing and Operations to schedule Engineering activities in coordination with the build schedule and committed delivery date
Act as Liaison between Engineering, Marketing, Operations, and Technical Support throughout the project life cycle (PLC)
Drive all engineering documentation and deliverables to be prepared in accordance with applicable company format and procedural requirements and to be completed, up-to-date, and released upon completion of an ETO project
Translate customer configuration requirements into system design requirements and communicate those requirements to Engineering
Ensure Engineering support to Operations during the entire build process
Manage internally and externally sourced engineering changes that are compliant with the Veeco change process and in support of program schedule requirements
Drive the creation of installation, setup, and calibration instructions, with Engineering staff support, as part of system delivery or update kit containing new features or functions
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, Control or Software Engineering preferred) and a minimum of 5years of experience in product design and development ora Master'sdegree and 3years of experience is required. Project/program management experience is required. Knowledge ofsemiconductor, data storage or other capital equipment industries is a plus. PMP certification preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Leading development programs for complex technical equipment (hardware) involving multi-discipline engineers
Estimating, schedule development and control, resource planning
Management of program risk through risk identification, quantification, and control using formal program management practices
Exposure to PLC and phase gate review experiencepreferred
Experience working directly with customers, external suppliers and outsource partners
Experience working within an ISO-certified organization is preferred
Broad understanding of key engineering and technology areas, including mechanical, electrical, systems and control, and software
Ability to multi-task and work with a cross-functional team in a matrixorganization; proven ability to direct and motivate individuals with no direct reporting structure
Excellent oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills and decision-making capability
Ability to effectively manage time
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, system block diagrams, electrical schematics, engineering specifications, and manufacturing requirements is required; ability to create engineering drawings, system block diagrams, and electrical schematics is preferred
Proficient with MS Office suite; familiarity with at least one project management software or tool, e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, etc.
Experience with ERP/MRP systems a plus, with SAP experience preferred
Experience with 2D and 3D CAD systems. AutoCAD and SolidWorks are preferred

Salary and Benefits:
The expected salary range for this position is $99,000-$125,000 plus a bonus opportunity. We will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors when determining your pay.
