Description:

Role Overview

We are seeking an Electro-Mechanical Engineer with strong expertise in designing, integrating, and deploying computer vision-based inspection and automation solutions. The role combines mechanical design, electronics, sensors, and embedded systems with vision algorithms to deliver reliable, production-grade systems for industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities

System Design & Integration

Design and integrate electro-mechanical systems incorporating cameras, lighting, sensors, actuators, PLCs, and motion control.

Translate computer vision requirements into mechanical layouts, optics selection, and enclosure designs.

Own end-to-end system architecture from concept through deployment and scale-up. Computer Vision Solution Deployment

Collaborate with data science / CV teams to deploy image processing and AI-based vision models in real-world environments.

Select and configure cameras, lenses, lighting (structured, backlight, diffuse) based on inspection requirements.

Optimize system performance for accuracy, latency, robustness, and throughput. Controls, Electronics & Embedded Systems

Design or integrate control systems using PLCs, industrial PCs, edge AI devices (NVIDIA Jetson, Intel OpenVINO, etc.).

Interface vision systems with robotics, conveyors, pick-and-place systems, and industrial equipment.

Support firmware and hardware bring-up, I/O mapping, and field troubleshooting. Testing, Validation & Commissioning

Conduct system calibration, validation, and acceptance testing in lab and production environments.

Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and vision-related failures; implement corrective actions.

Lead on-site installation, commissioning, and operator training. Documentation & Continuous Improvement

Create and maintain design documentation, wiring diagrams, SOPs, and maintenance guides.

Drive continuous improvement for reliability, cost optimization, and scalability.

Support transition from prototype to production and global rollout. Required Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or related field.

5+ years of experience in industrial automation, machine vision, or intelligent inspection systems.

Strong understanding of mechanical design, electronics, sensors, and control systems.

Hands-on experience with industrial cameras, optics, lighting, and image acquisition.

Working knowledge of computer vision fundamentals (image processing, defect detection, classification). Technical Skills

Mechanical CAD: SolidWorks, Creo, or equivalent

Vision & Imaging: OpenCV, Halcon, Cognex, Keyence, or similar platforms

Hardware & Controls: PLCs (Siemens / Allen-Bradley preferred), motion controllers, industrial I/O

Edge & Embedded: Jetson, IPCs, ARM-based systems

Communication Protocols: Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, OPC-UA Nice to Have

Experience deploying AI/ML-based vision models in production environments

Exposure to robotics integration (ABB, FANUC, UR, etc.)

Knowledge of industrial safety standards and compliance

Experience in high-speed manufacturing or quality inspection systems
