U. S. Steel is seeking a Civil/Construction Engineering Intern for our U. S. Steel Research and Technology Center, Finish Product Innovation Engineering Division in Hoover, AL. This position will work with our Finish Product Innovation Engineering team in Innovation Projects focusing on developing new manufacturing processes with new to the world technologies creating a new business opportunity and entry into new markets.
This position will:
Participate in new manufacturing process development to build pilot lines to validate new production process and build onsite
Work as an integral member of a manufacturing & construction team to support process development including build process flows map, building pilot manufacturing line, onsite assembly & erection, documenting learnings and working on potential process improvements
Participate in hands-on problem solving and resolution
Daily interaction with team members, internal business units, and external partners Job Requirements:
Candidates must maintain a 3.0 or higher overall GPA
Candidates must be a full-time student pursuing a bachelor's degree or master's degree in Civil, Structural, Construction, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or any related field
Candidates must, at a minimum, have completed or be working towards completion of their sophomore year and be in good academic standing Preferred Skills:
