About the role
Provide supervision of workshop overhaul, repair, overhaul installation and commissioning services for pumps, and coordination of production support
services such as machining, blasting, painting, etc.
Main tasks and responsibilities
Leading a multi-skilled and multi-national team in performing pump strip-
down, inspection, repair, and re-assembly.
Coordinating additional production support services including conventional
machining, sand / grit blasting, painting, finishing, and packing.
Planning, organising, and supervision of manpower, resources, materials,
and equipment required to execute work scopes.
Providing technical guidance and recommendation in accordance with
relevant industry standards and best engineering practices.
Adherence to ISO9001 Quality Management System, ensuring accuracy
and reliability of work carried out, records kept, and reports generated.
Driving a strong HSE culture, participating in continuous improvement
campaigns and initiatives.
Liaise with technical departments within Sulzer to develop engineering
solutions to be implemented in repairs, modifications, and upgrades.
Supporting job estimates for quotations and tendering with reasonable
accuracy.
Communicating job progress updates effectively, including anticipation of
delays, disruption to schedules and contingency / recovery planning.
Develop and maintain good and effective relationships with clients to
optimise further service opportunities.
Communicating with suppliers, vendors, and contractors when required to
support with procurement of parts, materials, and equipment.
Creating, planning and pre-authorisation of lift plans and safe execution of
all lifting operations (subject to LEEA certification).
Participate and actively support company initiatives.
Occasional attendance to customer sites may be required to perform
equipment surveys or support with service activity.

Qualifications & Experience required
Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship with valid certification.
At least 10 years’ experience of overhauling and repairing mechanical rotating equipment.
Experience of supervising and managing diverse teams in a technical environment.
Clear & thorough reports.
Knowledge of applicable standards and acceptance criteria. Fault finding including RCA.
HSE certificates (IOSH, LEEA). General computer skills (MS office).
