Coordinate with: Director of Programmes, Finance Director, HR Manager, Park Managers of both Bamingui-Bangoran and Manovo-Gounda St Floris.
Internal Liasion: All team leaders in CAR

Program Context
In 2018, WCS entered a 25-year Delegated Collaborative Management Partnership with the Government of the Central African Republic for the Manovo-Bamingui landscape in northern Central Africa, one of Africa’s largest protected area networks (114,722 km ). The landscape includes the Bamingui-Bangoran National Park and Manovo-Gounda St. Floris National Park (a UNESCO World Heritage Site).
This vast and extraordinary transboundary ecosystem connects key habitats across CAR, Chad, and the DRC and sits at the heart of WCS’s Sudano-Sahel conservation strategy
Job Summary
Based in Ndele, this is a rare opportunity to lead logistics at landscape scale in one of Africa’s most ambitious protected area programs. As a Logistics Director, you will lead and strengthen the operational backbone that enables conservation delivery across remote, complex, and security-sensitive environments. From procurement and fleet management to aviation support and infrastructure development, your leadership will directly determine how effectively conservation teams operate in the field.
You will oversee multi-site logistics operations across Manovo-Bamingui, and Manovo-Gounda St. Floris National Park, ensuring systems are efficient, compliant, cost-controlled, and fit for purpose. As a senior leader, you will work closely with Park Managers, Finance, Security, Regional Operations, and Global Procurement to drive operational excellence and long-term sustainability.
This role is both strategic and hands-on suited to a leader who understands that strong logistics systems are mission-critical to conservation impact.
Major Responsibilities
Logistics Strategy & Operational Leadership
Develop and implement a logistics strategy aligned with the country’s 5-year business plan.
Lead operational planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
Establish practical systems, SOPs, and internal controls suited to remote field operations.
Ensure full compliance with WCS policies, donor regulations, and CAR legal requirements.
Contribute operational expertise to proposal development and program expansion.
Procurement & Supply Chain
Oversee end-to-end procurement planning and execution
Strengthen transparent, competitive sourcing systems
Manage vendor frameworks, contracts, and international shipping
Fleet, Transport & Aviation Support
Lead management of a diverse fleet (4x4s, trucks, boats, motorbikes, generators).
Implement preventive maintenance systems, fuel management controls, and tracking tools.
Ensure safe and reliable transport of staff, equipment, and supplies.
Provide logistics oversight to aviation operations, including airstrip support, fuel systems, spare parts, and charter coordination.
Maintain audit-ready documentation and compliance standards
Asset, Warehousing & Inventory Management
Oversee asset registration, tagging, tracking, disposal, and replacement planning.
Strengthen warehouse systems and stock control procedures.
Monitor critical supplies such as fuel, spare parts, ranger equipment, and field rations.
Reduce operational risk through strong internal controls and clear accountability
Infrastructure & Park Facilities
You will lead the infrastructure that makes conservation possible.
Plan and oversee construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance of park infrastructure.
Manage projects including buildings, roads, airstrips, solar systems, water systems, and operational facilities.
Deliver projects safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with environmental and donor standards.
Develop long-term sustainment plans for utilities, communications, and essential park services.

Qualification Requirements
Position Requirements:
This position is suited for a senior logistics leader who:
Has 10-15+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, logistics, infrastructure, or field operations
Has led teams in complex, fragile, or remote environments
Understands donor compliance, procurement standards, and audit requirements
Is comfortable living and working in a remote field setting
Is motivated by conservation impact not just operational oversight
Fluency in French is required. Working knowledge of English is strongly preferred.
Experience in conservation, protected area management, or large-scale field programs is highly Additional Requirements:
Regular travels to CAR areas of operation, including the capital Bangui and various field sites across the Manovo-Bamingui landscape.
Highly resourceful and solutions-oriented, with strong expertise in logistics systems and tools.
