LAUNDRY SPOTTER/CLEANER
The Laundry Spotter/Cleaner reports directly to the Production Manager and is primarily responsible for identifying and removing stains, operating the dry-cleaning machine, sorting hotel linens and articles of clothing.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Professional Spotting by inspecting soiled articles to determine sources of stains and identify items requiring special treatment.
Sort soiled articles in preparation for washing; follow procedures to separate them by customer, fabric, color, cleaning technique or dirt content.
Operate machines including washers, dryers and dry-cleaning equipment, etc. in a safe manner and in accordance with management establishes procedures.
Iron or press articles, fabrics, linens, using hand irons or pressing machines to ensure quality work at management established production levels.
Properly identified and report losses and damages of items.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment; report any accident, safety issues and equipment problems to the Production Manager.
Perform other duties as required from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous experience in laundry as a Laundry Spotter/Cleaner preferred.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, bend, walk for long periods of time.
Able to multitask and have a strong attention to detail.
Excellent organizational skill with ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communication skills.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Scheduling flexibility; able to work nights, weekends and public holidays.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
May be exposed to a noisy, humid and hot environment surrounded. Temperatures will vary depending on how many machines are in operation at any given time.
Environment contains commercial grade washers and dryers and other various laundry service equipment.
Frequent standing, bending, walking and lifting required.
May be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when necessary
Pay Rate: US$10.00-US$13.00 per hour (paid bi-weekly)
Incentive Pay available based on group and individual numbers. In 2025, our hourly employees were averaging over US$3.00 per hour of additional pay.
