Manufacturing Process Engineer
Job Description
The Manufacturing Process Engineer will be responsible for evaluating existing processes and procedures to reduce waste, improve efficiency and productivity, and develop best practices within the operations area. The scope of this position includes making recommendations for change and improvements in methods, machinery, and materials.
Responsibilities
Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while evaluating, improving and implementing processes and procedures in manufacturing systems, production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs and changeovers.
Improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards.
Develop written instruction, train, implement, and assist personnel through coaching the standard work instructions for their job function which includes doing so in a safe and effective manner.
Perform root cause analysis and show results in reports; collect, record, and transcribe data.
Maintain testing equipment, equipment calibration and maintenance monitoring.
Develop and implement systems that optimize all phases of production process.
Provide root cause analysis support for incident investigations; advise on corrective actions.
Work with equipment designers and manufacturing to develop a cost-effective and working production process. Develop innovative solutions.
Research and purchase new manufacturing technology.
Ensure projects are completed on time while ensuring financial budgets are followed.
Assess the availability of raw materials and their safety and environmental impact of the facility.
Monitor and improve the efficiency, output and safety of manufacturing processes through observations and measurements as well as by collecting and interpreting data from other technical and operating personnel.
Assume responsibility for safety/environmental issues and ongoing performance of processes.

Education and/or Experience
B.S. degree in Mechanical, Plastics or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations (Desired/Not Required)
Knowledge of Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques
Other Qualifications:
May be asked to work some nights and weekends to meet production and project requirements.
Pay Range: $60,000 - $75,000 per year
