Spring and Annual Meetings:

Each year, the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund (IMF) hold their Spring Meetings and Annual Meetings.

The Meetings bring together over 300 Ministers of Finance and Heads of Central Banks, or comparable officials, representing 189 WBG and IMF member countries. Their discussions require the attendance of national advisers and international civil servants and attract large numbers of representatives from public and private financial institutions, staff of the organizations, press representatives, and members of civil society organizations.

During the period of the Annual Meetings and the preceding week, many related ministerial meetings are held, including meetings of the International Monetary and Financial Committee (IMFC); the Joint Ministerial Committee of the Boards of Governors of the Bank and the Fund on the Transfer of Real Resources to Developing Countries (Development Committee); other ancillary meetings of Delegations, regional groups, Executive Directors' constituencies; representatives of civil society; seminars; and press conferences. As part of the Spring Meetings and Annual Meetings 2026, the East Asia and Pacific Region (EAP) will be organizing some events. The Regional Vice President (RVP) will participate in several bilateral meetings with Heads of Government and donor partners.

Objective of the program:

The objective of this program is to provide EAP Country office A2D staff an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the Front Office work, to further strengthen their skills, to gain HQ experience to better support their teams and develop their potential. In preparation for the 2026 Annual Meetings to be held in Bangkok, Thailand, the program will also provide knowledge and experience to the A2D staff so he/she can mentor other A2D staff in the Region who will be assigned or planning to take part in the Annual Meetings.

EAPVP Front Office is looking for one EAP Country office A2D staff to provide administrative support during the period of April to June 2026. We are seeking candidates with high-integrity, energetic team members who possess adaptability and flexibility in providing support to the front office. Operational and administrative experience, together with resourcefulness, creativity, ambition, and a great sense of humor are key attributes for this position. The selected candidate will work with the Director of Strategy and Operations, Senior Operations Officer, and Senior Executive Assistants in the EAPVP Office Teams. They will report to the Senior Executive Assistant in HQ.

Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Provide primary support to Regional Vice President's Front Office Team;

• Work closely with the Senior Executive Assistant in the Front office in providing all-encompassing administrative and other relevant support to the RVP while in HQ and DSO to ensure efficient workflow and operation of the office;

• Spring Meetings support to the Front office and regional events;

• Effectively handle logistical support arrangements for bilateral meetings, interviews, EAP Events, prepare invitations, enable technology options for events, gather background materials for briefing books in a timely manner and compile briefing book for the RVP;

• Exercise quality enhancement function for documents by ensuring adherence to EAP and Bank guidelines;

• Assist in coordinating the preparation of the EAPVP and DSO, meeting with internal and external clients and stakeholders;

• Respond promptly and efficiently to non-routine inquiries and resolve problems using knowledge about the work program and staff schedules and using good judgment in deciding multiple actions and direct queries for follow-up by senior staff;

• Demonstrate proactivity and initiative; suggest ways to enhance the overall effectiveness of the unit and handle sensitive and confidential information/situation matters with discretion;

• Provide support to EAP ECR Team as and when needed. Provide support to update the regional intranet website as needed

• Respond to additional ad-hoc tasks and attend training opportunities during the assignment.

Delivery

After the completion of the assignment, staff will be expected to produce a brief Back to Office Report (BTOR) which should include: a) description of how the assignment was beneficial to the staff; b) how this opportunity has served as another venue for knowledge sharing; c) what was accomplished; d) feedbacks - lessons learned and recommendations ; and e) mentor staff on lessons and experiences learned during the Spring and Annual meetings.

In addition to the regular A2D qualification, this is a position requiring excellent inter-personal skills, tact, discretion, good instincts, and ability to act with appropriate situational awareness.
