Job Responsibilities:

Understand and master the musical style and performance nuances of the designated repertoire.

Collaborate with the resident music director and operation team in daily rehearsals and performances to ensure the highest quality of production.

Adapt flexibly to the show director’s requirements.

Maintain and take care for instruments and props required for performances.

Maintain professionalism during performances to ensure stage order and safety.

Deliver consistent and high-quality performances across multiple shows.

Maintain effective communication and collaboration with fellow performers, musicians, and technical crew.

Job Requirements:

Applicants with performance experience in playing the Sheng or Lusheng, as well as in presenting the traditional ‘Gunshanzhu’ performance, will be given priority. Candidates with stage and theater performance experience are especially preferred.

Proficient in Cantonese or Mandarin.

Possess the ability to read musical notation (either numbered notation or staff notation) and demonstrate strong stage performance skills. A foundational understanding of Miao songs and related cultural traditions, along with the capacity for continued cultural learning, is required.
