Job Summary
Operate in a data center environment that requires 7x24x365 coverage. This includes physical security for the data center environment, monitoring infrastructure and applications, and the ability to communicate with customers, vendors and teammates.
THIS ROLE IS ON-SITE WORK MODEL AT OUR CRAFTON DATA CENTER LOCATION:
735 Beechnut Drive Pittsburgh, PA 15205
THE WORK SCHEDULE IS:
7pm to 7am (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday), 3am to 7am (Wednesday)
Training will be 6 to 8 weeks working:
7am to 7pm - (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday), 7am to 11am - (Saturday)
Job Description
Experience Required: 1 year; Ability to work night shifts, overtime and onsite
Experience Required: WAN and Layer 2 Networking
Experience Desired: Network Operations Center experience, VAT Scheduling, Aruba CLI, Aruba Central, ServiceNow familiarity, and SolarWinds familiarity
Education Desired: High school diploma or equivalent plus 18 months to 3 years of additional training Job Responsibilities

Must have critical thinking and problem-solving abilities regarding IT infrastructure for all locations - LAN/WAN, router, switches, controllers, servers, etc. Perform network problem determination, documentation and resolution using various hardware and software diagnostic tools and by interfacing with various vendors, service providers and end users to ensure the integrity and availability of the network. Working knowledge of network standards/procedures and telecommunications troubleshooting. Under general supervision, monitor data communications LAN and WAN Networks by using various hardware/software interfaces to ensure availability of the data to the customer
Perform normal and abnormal system shutdowns in the most productive manner. Monitor alarm panels in data center and respond to security alarms by investigating cause and taking appropriate action to ensure building and data is secure.
Prevent unauthorized access to information, assets or restricted areas and report any attempts.
Ensure job schedules and deadlines are met, incidents are opened, and call outs are made. Communicated turnover is completed before leaving your shift.
Join SEV 1 calls as a DOC representative to answer questions if needed.
Report any type of problems or potential problems to the appropriate management or teams in a timely manner. Ability to work under severe deadlines.
Maintain computer hardware in accordance with established procedures to ensure equipment is operating efficiently.
Initiate and verify successful completion of jobs, scripts and other tasks that send or receive data to or from remote locations by using systems and application utility programs, screens and reports to ensure data is accurately sent and received according to written procedures.
Monitor UNIX, Linux and Windows platforms for system integrity and availability.
Flexibility to work 12-hour shifts including weekends, holidays and overtime as needed.
