Position Overview:
The Cyber Security Engineer is responsible for safeguarding enterprise systems, networks, and data through the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of security controls. This role focuses on proactive threat identification, vulnerability management, incident response, and collaboration with IT and application teams to reduce risk and strengthen overall security posture.
Duties:
Plan, implement, manage, monitor, and upgrade security measures to protect systems, networks, and data
Respond to system and network security incidents and breaches, including investigation and remediation
Perform scheduled and ad-hoc vulnerability scans across networks, servers, and endpoints
Test and identify network and system vulnerabilities using automated and manual techniques
Analyze vulnerability scan results, validate findings, and prioritize remediation based on risk and exploitability
Partner with IT and application teams to coordinate remediation efforts and verify successful fixes
Tune security and vulnerability scans to reduce false positives and improve data accuracy
Evaluate organizational security needs and establish security best practices, standards, and controls
Develop and maintain vulnerability metrics, dashboards, and executive-level security reports
Conduct ongoing security testing and assessments to ensure infrastructure and data remain protected
Required Skills:
12+ years of experience in network security and threat detection
12+ years of experience in incident response and vulnerability management
12+ years of hands-on experience administering Qualys
12+ years of experience with remediation documentation and patch management processes
Preferred Skills:
4-year college degree (highly desired)
CISSP certification (highly desired)
