Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer for our client close to Decatur, AL. You will perform a variety of operational functions including recommending and implementing cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Supports customer requirements by using SolidWorks to create parts and assembly drawings, generates bills of materials and

performs all other duties as assigned This is a great opportunity to work with a leading automotive manufacturer while building your long-term career.

Responsibilities

Performs research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment.

Designs, develops, tests and/or sources and cost-justifies various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.

Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency.

Converts engineering concepts into solid models using SolidWorks.

Creates part and assembly drawings and documentation on existing and new products.

Ensure all design models, drawings and bills of materials are completed per requirements.

Monitors progress of First Articles.

Contributes to product planning in areas of expertise.

Supports Sales, Manufacturing, Customers and Suppliers as needed.

Communicate with and support management in a timely manner.

Ensure Matthews quality policies and procedures are followed.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.

Strong Geometry Skills

Specialized training in SolidWorks or strong AutoCad skills with willingness to learn SolidWorks.

2+ years of engineering experience preferably in a manufacturing environment

Technical skills in manufacturing processes and methods including flow, layout, assembly and production equipment

Broad exposure to Sheetmetal Fabrication Technologies

Quality orientation and attention to detail.

Problem analysis and problem resolution.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to work in a team environment

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work occasional overtime.

Steel-toed boots required.

Must pass background & drug screening.

Schedule & Pay

Shift: 1st Shift – Monday–Friday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM.

Pay: $30.00-$35.00/hr
