Job Description

The Operations Field Technician is responsible for operating wells and associated equipment in accordance with established operating procedures, safety standards, and daily production plans. This role focuses on maintaining safe, reliable, and efficient production operations while minimizing equipment failures and optimizing resource utilization. The position requires continuous monitoring of well conditions, coordination with maintenance teams, and active participation in safety and emergency response activities.

Responsibilities

Operate wells and production equipment in alignment with daily operational objectives and safety guidelines.

Participate in daily toolbox meetings and scheduled safety meetings.

Maintain housekeeping, safety, health, environmental, and security standards.

Conduct continuous surveillance of wells and equipment to identify and implement corrective or optimization actions.

Perform basic maintenance tasks as part of Equipment Care responsibilities.

Coordinate, control, and monitor corrective, predictive, and preventive maintenance activities.

Report alarms, emergency shutdown system outages, and abnormal operating conditions promptly.

Accurately document operational events, deviations, and incidents in logbooks.

Provide clear and detailed communication during shift handovers to ensure operational continuity.

Collect product samples for laboratory analysis and perform field-based testing.

Support emergency response activities and report incidents according to established guidelines.

Collaborate with supervisors and team members to ensure operational awareness and alignment.

Diagnose well performance issues and provide accurate data regarding production rates and well conditions.

Ensure wellhead and surface equipment are properly maintained prior to well intervention activities.

Provide operational support during wellwork and intervention operations as required.

Maintain effective communication across operations, maintenance, and support teams.

Skills and Qualifications

Completed secondary education required; prior experience as a Field Technician preferred.

Experience in process operations (non-refinery environments preferred).

Experience in upstream production and wellhead operations.

Background in production facilities, midstream operations, tank batteries, compressor stations, or onshore field operations.

Strong working knowledge of pipeline operations.

Extensive understanding of safety and operations management tools and processes.

Knowledge of emergency preparedness procedures.

Familiarity with project design specifications and operational philosophy.

Understanding of relevant industry regulations and commercial agreements.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

High commitment to safety, health, and environmental standards.

Ability to identify operational issues and implement practical solutions.

Strong documentation and reporting skills.

Ability to work effectively in team-based, shift-driven environments.

Job Details

Pay: $60.55/per hour

Location: Spring, TX
