As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the CONSUMER & COMMUNITY BANKING, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

Job responsibilities

Executes software solutions, including design, development, and technical troubleshooting, with the ability to think beyond routine approaches to solve complex problems.

Provides direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level software engineers, ensuring successful collaboration across teams and stakeholders.

Is accountable for decisions impacting team resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution of processes and procedures.

Identifies and mitigates issues to execute a book of work, escalating problems as necessary, and provides input to leadership regarding budget and technical considerations.

Creates a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect, prioritizing diverse representation within the team.

Develops secure, high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems, using languages such as Swift UI, Swift, Objective C, Kotlin, and Java.

Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring design constraints are met during software code development.

Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets to drive continuous improvement of software applications and systems.

Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data, using insights to improve coding hygiene and system architecture; demonstrates strong experience with data structures, type conversions, multi-threading, and design patterns (MVC, MVVM, MVI, MVP, Singleton).

Designs, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems, utilizing Android frameworks and APIs (Android SDK, Rx Java, Jetpack libraries, XML layouts, Jetpack Compose), and tools (Android Studio, Layout Inspector, Profiler, Logcat, Memory Analyzer).

Enthusiastic about automated testing, experienced with unit testing frameworks (JUnit, Espresso), build systems (Gradle, Jenkins), and actively contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events exploring new technologies. Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.

Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.

Proficient in coding in one or more languages, including Java and Kotlin.

Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with modern programming languages and database querying languages.

Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, applicant resiliency, and security.

Experience working with Restful API integration, Keychain, Wallet, and Apple security standards.

Experience in unit testing libraries like Xcode unit tests and Gherkin scripts for UI test automation.

Strong understanding of Java and the Android ecosystem, including all mobile UI fundamentals from layout to animations.

Experience working with large codebases, managing shared resources and libraries, and familiarity with Agile development practices such as daily scrum and weekly iteration reviews and planning.

Understanding of SOLID principles and architectural patterns (MVP, MVI, MVVM), hands-on experience at code level across all SDLC processes, and a track record of creating mobile applications with over 100K downloads, including at least one Android app in the Google Play store. Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Familiarity with Agile development including daily scrum and weekly iteration reviews and planning

Understanding of SOLID principles and architectural patterns such as MVP, MVI and MVVM

Hands on experience and is comfortable working at code level and participating all SDLC processes

Created one or more mobile applications with over 100K downloads

Experience in Android mobile application development with at least one application in the Google Play app store
