Job Description

The Hotel Chief Engineer leads the engineering and maintenance department, ensuring the property's safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal. Key responsibilities include overseeing HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and safety systems, managing preventive maintenance programs, budgeting, and leading staff to ensure guest satisfaction. They are critical for building compliance, repairs, and energy management. Compensation:

$70,000 - $85,000 per yearResponsibilities:

Facility Maintenance: Maintain, repair, and inspect all hotel buildings, rooms, equipment, and public areas, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems.

Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement proactive, scheduled maintenance programs for all equipment to minimize downtime.

Team Leadership: Hire, train, manage, and schedule engineering staff, ensuring high performance and safety compliance.

Budgeting & Financial Management: Control expenses, manage energy consumption, and participate in capital improvement planning.

Safety & Compliance: Ensure the property complies with all local, state, and federal building codes, regulations, and safety standards.

Vendor Management: Negotiate contracts with external contractors and suppliers.

Guest Service: Respond to urgent maintenance requests and ensure guest comfort. Qualifications:

Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and refrigeration systems.

Leadership Experience: Proven experience managing a maintenance team in a hotel or similar facility.

Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot urgent, complex building issues.

Communication & Organization: Proficient in managing schedules, budgets, and project timelines.
