Position Description

Anlaan Corporation is a Grand Haven based heavy civil construction contractor. We have been a presence in West Michigan for nearly 40 years and are looking to add an experienced lowboy and flatbed driver to our team. The position is hourly, non-exempt. Drivers will be transporting equipment of all shapes and sizes throughout the state. Mostly daytime driving, home every night with the occasional evening or Saturday work.

COMPENSATION / BENEFITS

Very competitive pay based on experience. Fuel card provided. Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance after 60 days. 100% company paid premiums. Time and a half after 8 daily or 40 weekly. Paid Time Off. Annual performance-based raises. Simplified Employee Pension (SEP).

Position Requirements

KEY DUTIES / JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Operate, load, and haul Anlaan Corporation owned and rented equipment, safely, making sure to inspect loads to ensure cargo is secure.

Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, federal (DOT), state, and local.

Work with management team for delivery schedules.

Complete all documentation required with equipment deliveries and returns.

Perform routine inspections and maintenance on vehicles including tire pressure, fluid levels, etc.

Coordinate as-needed with field crew to ensure proper delivery.

Track and document activity log.

Report any issues or incidents to management immediately.

Other duties as assigned by management.

REQUIREMENTS

Education / Skills / Experience:

Excellent Reading & Comprehension Skills.

Minimum of 1-year tractor and trailer experience hauling equipment.

Valid CDL Class A license with Air Brake endorsement and good driving record.

Strong work ethic.

Self-starter with great communication skills.

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Experience operating heavy equipment preferred.

Tanker endorsement prefered.

Physical Demands:

The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by drivers to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Must be able to sit for extended periods of time, and to stoop, bend, and crouch as required to perform Key Duties.

Work is performed in and around live traffic and requires constant awareness of your surroundings.

Ability to lift and carry at up to 75 pounds personally.

Maintain constant alertness to the multiple activities around a construction site, including other employees and contractors, the operation of moving equipment.

Work is performed in all weather conditions. The environment periodically exposes the employees to high levels of noise commonly found in road construction and may involve exposure to a variety of substances such as, grease, diesel fuel, gasoline, and asphalt.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each Key Duty satisfactorily. The requirements represent the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
