The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, troubleshooting, and continuously improving electrical control systems within a manufacturing environment. This role requires strong expertise in Allen Bradley PLC systems, industrial automation, and plant-level electrical infrastructure.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strong work ethic who thrives in a team-oriented environment and is capable of managing capital and expense budgets to support plant objectives.
Key Responsibilities
• Modify existing equipment for continuous improvement and automation initiatives.
• Design, develop, and oversee all aspects of electrical control systems.
• Troubleshoot and program Allen Bradley PLC systems.
• Support production and maintenance through PLC modifications and troubleshooting.
• Manage contractors and maintenance technicians supporting electrical projects.
• Collaborate with equipment designers and vendors by providing clear technical specifications.
• Manage capital and expense budgets to meet plant objectives.
• Ensure compliance with equipment safety standards including NFPA 70E arc flash requirements.
• Support industrial ethernet communication and machine network layout.
Must-Have Qualifications
• 3+ years of experience with Allen Bradley PLCs and industrial automation.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting and programming PLC systems.
• Strong work ethic and self-starter mindset.
• Experience managing capital and expense budgets in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in manufacturing or industrial production settings.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
Required Technical Skills
• Proficiency with Allen Bradley PLCs, remote I/O, HMIs, and Rockwell software.
• Programming and troubleshooting Allen Bradley PLCs.
• Experience with Allen Bradley variable frequency drives (VFDs) and servo drives.
• Industrial ethernet communication and machine network layout.
• Equipment safety knowledge including:
o Hardware design
o Component selection
o Risk assessment process
o Arc flash compliance per NFPA 70E
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Experience managing contractors and maintenance technicians.
• Ability to design and oversee full electrical control systems lifecycle.
• Experience working cross-functionally in plant Continuous Flow Teams (CFTs).
