Job Title: SMT Operator

Location: Suwanee, GA (Onsite)

Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire (~6 months)

Compensation: $21-$23 per hour (based on experience)

Shifts Available:

1st Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

2nd Shift: 3:15 PM - 11:45 PM

(Overtime may be required based on production needs)Position Summary

The SMT Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining Surface Mount Technology (SMT) production lines to support high-quality electronics manufacturing. This position requires strong attention to detail, technical aptitude, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.

SMT Operators play a critical role in ensuring process accuracy, product quality, and line efficiency. This role is well-suited for individuals who enjoy hands-on technical work, problem-solving, and contributing to a collaborative, high-performing production team.

Key Responsibilities

Operate, monitor, and adjust SMT production equipment (Siemens, Panasonic, or similar systems) according to established procedures.

Execute CircuitCam and other documented work instructions with accuracy and consistency.

Conduct in-process and final inspections to verify compliance with quality standards and product specifications.

Identify and resolve minor equipment or process issues to maintain smooth line operation.

Apply IPC SMT solderability standards and best practices throughout production.

Maintain accurate production documentation and communicate line status to supervisors and team members.

Support preventive maintenance activities and assist in basic troubleshooting efforts.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area consistent with 5S and safety principles.

Participate in team-based improvement initiatives and contribute to overall process efficiency.Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.

Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in electronics manufacturing or related SMT operations.

Working knowledge of SMT assembly processes, equipment, and quality standards.

Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, drawings, and work instructions.

Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.Preferred Qualifications

4+ years of experience operating SMT machinery (Siemens or Panasonic preferred).

Familiarity with IPC-A-610 standards and industry best practices.

Basic understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.

Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and basic manufacturing software.Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Indoor manufacturing environment with controlled conditions.

Frequent standing, walking, and manual handling of components (up to 25 lbs).

Requires consistent focus and agility in a dynamic production setting - similar to a high-performance pit crew environment, where teamwork, timing, and precision are essential.Additional Information

Must comply with all company safety policies, quality systems, and ISO standards.

Overtime may be required based on production demands.
