Job Summary: Job Class 024, Labor Grade 5

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Conscientiously work toward running a safer and cleaner operation.

Ensure that all guards are always in place.

Inform the supervisors of any maintenance problems or suggested changes to equipment.

Set up the bench with minimal assistance, using proper tooling listed on the run sheet. Use minimum delay for the mandrels when a delayed push-up is required.

Ensure all gages and measuring devices required to run the job are at the workstation and are calibrated.

Draw maximum number of tubes per draw whenever possible. Do not exceed the draw capacity of the bench.

On new set-ups, measure the gage and check the I.D. finish and appearance on the first tube from each mandrel. Make additional checks as necessary until all mandrels are producing an acceptable product.

Measure and inspect additional tubes from every bundle to determine that all products meet the job specification.

Make every reasonable effort to meet or exceed the production standard for each job.

In case of a missing bundle, notify the supervisor as soon as possible.

Turn the light on to get new stock before the load on the bench is finished.

Fill out all tags accurately and ensure they are put back on the appropriate bundle.

Assume various other duties at the direction of the shift supervisor.

Other Skills and Abilities: Must be computer literate and able to work with programs such as Word, Excel, etc., and be able to learn and use HP programs such as e-mail, ERP system, etc.

Must have knowledge of simple computer programming. Requires excellent measurement skills. Ability to follow instructions from technical parameters. Perform duties proficiently and be able to work in a fast-paced environment with ability to handle and prioritize multiple competing tasks and demands. Must have a strong work ethic. Must be able to work flexible schedules and hours.
