We are hiring a CNC Program Specialist in their Shop Department.
This position is primarily responsible for designing and drawing (in AutoCAD and Inventor) essential items that will be manufactured by SCI shop employees. Is also responsible for ordering materials for projects, contacting customers and contractors to coordinate what SCI products will integrate into existing dimensions and site conditions, and overseeing production and packaging of final product by performing the following duties.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Translate the requirements into measurements for production.
Perform proper set-up and calibration procedures for all equipment and accessories to be used on projects.
Program the machines to run certain projects.
Ensure that every machine procedure is done in accordance with the strict guidelines of the company.
Download the proper programs that are required for production.
Follow all company safety protocol.
Inspect the work area and machines that were used during the day prior to leaving at the end of the shift.
Crosstrain throughout departments as needed.
Troubleshoot the machines as needed.
Participate in Pre-Order meeting with a Customer Service Representative.
Compare orders to layout provided to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Order non-stocked materials necessary for projects through purchasing.
Draws/models in AutoCAD or Inventor production design drawings to SCI Standard Design Procedures.
Program the parts of the CNC machines (training is done on site).
Is responsible for updating bill of material and descriptions prior to issuing to the floor.
Prepare installation drawings.
All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate's degree or higher; and two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong attention to detail, ability to make quality decisions, manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Manufacturing shop environment with exposure to noise, fumes, and moving equipment.
Use of PPE required (safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection).
May involve shift work, overtime, or weekend hours based on production needs.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance.
Involves prolonged standing, bending, and repetitive motions.
Requires visual acuity for reading instruments.
