Responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in day-to-day work routine for self and others.

Responsible to perform all duties associated with the operation, maintenance and construction of gas distribution systems.

Responds to emergencies, scheduled and unscheduled overtime, and after hour calls.

Successful candidates must live within 20 minutes of the Montevideo office.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * High school education with proficiency in the operation of gas construction equipment or equivalent field experience.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS * Must take all measures necessary to protect networks, devices, programs and data from cyber-attack, damage or unauthorized access.

* Required to maintain a valid driver's license.

* Must possess or be able to acquire a valid commercial motor vehicle driver's license appropriate for the position.

* Must successfully complete the applicable Apprenticeship Training Program.

* Ability to obtain plastic fusion and SCBA certification.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Qualified in the operation, maintenance, and construction of a gas distribution system.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES * Performs all duties required to install, operate and maintain a natural gas distribution system within the applicable guidelines.

Including, but not limited to, operating trenching and other pipeline installation equipment, fuses or otherwise joining of pipe and fittings, shovels, tamps, backfills, rakes and perform other functions associated with the installation and maintenance of pipelines.

* Participates in on-call rotations.

Responsible for after-hours emergency calls and assists in emergency situations, as needed.

* Operates, maintains, and repairs all construction tools, vehicles, and equipment.

* Performs locates on the underground piping system to meet the requirements set forth by Gopher State One Call.

Operates and maintains vacuum excavation equipment to aid in the location of underground piping.

* Perform other tasks and special projects as assigned.

Hourly Wage: $33.84 - $48.34 per hour Application Deadline: February 17, 2026, at 11:59 P.M.
