Quarry Operator

Georgia Stone Quarries is seeking a dedicated individuals to join our Quarry team, as a Quarry Operator.

This physically demanding role involves operating heavy machinery and hand tools to extract and prepare stone from the quarry.

As a member of our valued quarry team, you'll play a critical role in the stone production process, helping to cut and extract large blocks of stone for further processing.

While working in our quarry, your contributions ensure the continued production of high-quality stone used in projects around the world.

This is a hands-on role that offers the opportunity to work with impressive machinery in a unique and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities: * Operate heavy machinery such as quarry chain saws & wire saws, drills and material handling equipment * Use hand tools (pick, shovel, sledgehammer, etc.) to prepare stone * Loosen and break stone using various tools (pick, crowbar, sledgehammer) * Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area * Follow all Job Safety Analysis (JSA) procedures to ensure safety and perform work to all MSHA standards.

Physical Requirements: * Ability to lift and carry up to 60 lbs * Ability to work in a surface level quarry environment * Must be able to climb ladders and work in varying conditions * Ability to work a 40-hour work week, plus occasional overtime Experience & Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent * Experience operating heavy equipment is a plus * Some experience in construction, farming, or stone industry is a plus * Basic computer skills or ability to learn company inventory tracking system * Must pass background check and drug test Position Details: * Job Type: Full-Time * Starting Pay: $20.35 per hour Benefits: * 401(k) with company match * Medical, dental, and vision insurance * Company Paid Basic Life insurance * Company Paid Short-and Long-Term Disability * Paid time off * Annual Boot Allowance * Parental Leave * Employee Assistance Program * Referral Program Work Schedule: * Shift: 10-hour shifts, 4x10 schedule * Overtime: as needed, 8~10hr shifts, Fridays or Saturdays as needed Note: Any experience deemed equivalent will be considered.
