Position Summary

We are seeking an Inside Sales Representative for our client in Decatur, AL. In this role, you will support sales operations by managing customer inquiries, preparing quotes, processing orders, and coordinating with the production team. This is a fast-paced environment, and we’re looking for a quick learner who thrives under pressure and enjoys building customer relationships.

Essential Duties

Promote company products using strong sales and product knowledge

Contact potential and existing customers to generate sales

Set pricing and profit margins for regular and large orders

Prepare quotes and negotiate material bids

Procure and purchase products to fulfill customer orders

Monitor technical and business objectives of customers

Provide purchasing feedback regarding inventory, dead stock, and new products

Maintain acceptable profit margins to support company goals

Monitor ship dates and backorders

Oversee billing and delivery to customers

Build and maintain long-term customer relationships

Maintain and update customer database

Collaborate with outside sales team

Ensure customer satisfaction (product accuracy, delivery, billing)

Participate in on-call sales schedules as needed

Qualifications

2–5 years of sales experience required

Metals industry experience preferred

Strong customer service and relationship-building skills

Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Highly organized with strong attention to detail

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Advanced Excel required)

Strong math skills (profit margins, percentages, inventory calculations)

Professional and helpful demeanor on the phone and in person
