Sytech Inc., is a fast-paced Precision Sheet Metal Fabrication Company located in Spokane seeking a Punch / Laser Operator. We are seeking a highly self-motivated individual who is willing to be a valued member of our team. This is a very unique position and we require this individual to be flexible and willing to keep the customers in mind at all times; while maintaining Quality of Workmanship, Safety, Accountability, and Teamwork, which is vital to our mission.
The individual in this position will review work orders, manufacturing drawings and set-up sheets, select proper tools, set-up machine and produce a test piece to qualify correct setup with Quality Management. The Operator will work within quality guidelines to ensure that parts are compliant to customer requirements.
The position will assist in the development and improvement of company operating procedure under its Lean Manufacturing Continuous Improvement Program.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Arranging and loading sheet metal onto rolling rack
Pull sheet metal material when needed using a forklift
Call up appropriate program, set-up and operate CNC turret punch
Read and interpret bills of materials (BOM) and blueprints
Select proper die clearances based on material requirements
Change tooling as required and perform scheduled maintenance tasks (i.e. tool sharpening)
Deburr parts
Check dimensions such as gauge, height and width, holes and cut-outs against print
Follow production schedule as assigned
Responsible for keeping work area(s) clean
Participate and work in a team atmosphere
Maintain high productivity and quality workmanship
Perform quality checks on machined parts
Troubleshoot during production run to maintain quality throughout
Parts clean up
Fork lift operation.
Other duties as assigned

Requirements
Physical Demands:
Requires lifting and pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
Rotation of head/neck, bending and twisting at the waist, walking, standing, kneeling, reaching
Physical and visual acuity to effectively perform duties.
Use of high and low impact vibratory tools
Flexion/extension
Contact with metals, lubricants, solvents
Exposure to noise, and the use of personal safety gear for face, eyes, hand/arm and ears.
Must be able to stand for 8 to 12 hours.
Able to maintain a quick and steady pace working efficiently throughout the shift.
Where the temperature in the building cannot be controlled, work may be done in hot environments (especially during summer months).
Environmental Exposure
Contact with metals, lubricants, solvents, and exposure to noise
Confined spaces, high noise levels, moving objects such as forklifts and carts.
Exposure to hot temperature when working near ovens or in areas of the building that cannot be temperature controlled (especially during summer months).
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Knowledge of Armada equipment
Basic computer PC skills
ISO experience a plus
Understanding of 5S and Lean Manufacturing
Ability to identify different materials and gauge of steel
Ability to use various measurement equipment (tape measure, calipers)
Read and interpret blueprints and routers
Safely and properly use a wide variety of shop tools, including hand and power tools.
Highly organized and attentive to tight deadlines with a sharp attention to details
Work cooperatively with others in a team environment
Follow directions in standard practices and procedures
Has the ability to interpret production schedules and make sound decisions regarding the priority and timing of parts to be cut
Communicates and works well in routine and unplanned circumstances with engineering, management, and shop personnel
Work independently with minimal supervision but able to communicate and work with other departments.
Ability to verify quality using simple precision measurement equipment
Demonstrate motivation, initiative and good work ethics
Safety conscious and have good problem solving skills
