Position Purpose

Under the general supervision of a building principal, teachers in Gentry Public Schools provide instruction that supports student success and growth in academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and interpersonal skills. Teachers implement district-approved curriculum, monitor and document student progress, address individual student needs, and create safe, supportive, and effective learning environments. Educators are expected to collaborate with colleagues, communicate clearly with students and families, and contribute to a positive, inclusive culture where all students are expected to learn.

Instructional Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

Delivering instruction aligned to district curriculum and standards

Collaborating with grade-level, content, and instructional teams

Participating in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)

Implementing research-based instructional strategies

Monitoring and assessing student progress using formative and summative measures

Providing timely feedback to students, parents, and administrators

Supporting students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth

Maintaining organization and completing required documentation

Specific instructional duties will vary depending on grade level, content area, and assignment.

Professional Expectations (All Teaching Positions)

Submit required data and documentation in a timely manner

Attend scheduled meetings and professional development

Demonstrate proficiency with workplace technology

Follow safety procedures and district protocols

Collaborate effectively while respecting role boundaries

Serve as a positive ambassador for the district

Maintain a positive, solutions-oriented attitude

Demonstrate reliable attendance to maximize student learning Organizational & Professional Responsibilities

Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law and district policy

Adhere to state statutes, school board policies, and administrative regulations

Participate in committees or additional duties as assigned

Remain current on instructional best practices and educational expectations

Support and implement district initiatives, mission, vision, and values
