About the Role

Pacific Motor Group is seeking an experienced and trade-qualified Vehicle Painter (ANZSCO 324311) to join its busy workshop team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and refinishing vehicles to manufacturer and industry standards, ensuring high-quality workmanship and attention to detail across all paint and refinishing tasks.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

- Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting by sanding, masking, priming and performing minor surface repairs.

- Assess vehicle damage and determine appropriate refinishing methods.

- Mix and match paint colours accurately to manufacturer specifications.

- Apply primers, base coats and clear coats using spray-painting equipment in a controlled workshop environment.

- Carry out spot repairs and full vehicle resprays as required.

- Inspect completed work to ensure colour consistency, finish quality and compliance with standards.

- Maintain spray booths, tools and equipment in safe and efficient working condition.

- Follow workplace health and safety procedures, including correct handling and disposal of hazardous materials.

- Liaise with panel beaters and workshop staff to ensure seamless repair and refinishing outcomes.

- Maintain accurate records of materials used and work completed.

- Contribute to maintaining a clean and organised workshop environment.

Position Requirements

- Certificate III in Automotive Refinishing Technology or equivalent trade qualification.

- Minimum three (3) years of relevant post-trade experience as a Vehicle Painter.

- Strong knowledge of automotive paint systems, surface preparation and refinishing techniques.

- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

- High attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality workmanship.
