Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

Assist machine operators in setting up and operating production equipment. Monitor machines during operation to ensure consistent quality and output. Load raw materials and remove finished products from production lines. Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of machinery. Inspect products for defects and report issues to supervisors. Maintain accurate production records and follow safety protocols. Support other production tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate production equipment.

Monitor machine operations to maintain quality standards.

Load raw materials onto and remove finished products from production lines.

Perform routine cleaning and maintenance on machinery.

Inspect products for defects and report any issues.

Maintain accurate production records.

Adhere to all safety protocols.

Support additional production tasks as needed.

Operate machines such as extruders, laminators, press, and slitter machines.

Perform preventative maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance.

Essential Skills

Previous industrial experience.

Basic knowledge of machinery functions.

Proficiency in basic computer and math skills.

Ability to operate a forklift and clamp truck (training provided).

Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Capability to lift approximately 50 lbs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in machine operating, assembly, and general production.

Proficiency with hand tools and mechanical operations.

Experience with packing, picking, and using an RF scanner.

Work Environment

The work environment involves machine and forklift operating in a hot and loud setting due to rewind machines. Employees will run multiple lines and receive cross-training on various machines. Shift options include 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts, with most 3rd shift positions offering 12-hour shifts. 2nd shift operates from 3 pm to 11 pm, while 3rd shift runs from 11 pm to 7 am or midnight to 8 am, from Sunday through Thursday.Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Doswell, VA.Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $20.00/hr.
