Description We are looking for a Mailroom Associate to join our team in Columbus, Ohio.
In this long-term contract position, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accurate handling and processing of utility invoices in a fast-paced mailroom setting.
This role requires a high degree of accuracy, organizational skills, and the ability to meet production goals while maintaining quality standards.
Responsibilities: - Extract and sort utility invoices, mail inserts, checks, and other documents based on specific criteria and procedures.
- Organize utility bills using separator sheets to prepare them for scanning.
- Conduct thorough manual reviews of invoices to ensure compliance with customer and departmental guidelines.
- Identify and separate bills that do not meet established standards, attaching reject forms for further review.
- Meet production quotas in a high-paced mailroom environment while maintaining accuracy.
- Stay updated with new or revised client and departmental procedures, discarding outdated instructions as necessary.
- Perform basic troubleshooting on mail-opening equipment to ensure smooth operations.
- Communicate issues and propose solutions to supervisors or team leads proactively.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to uphold a neat and orderly appearance.
- Work overtime when required to ensure timely processing of all accounts.
Requirements - Ability to lift mail trays and letter debris weighing up to 35 pounds regularly.
- Physical capability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements while sorting and opening mail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to excel in a fast-paced production environment.
- Proven ability to grasp instructions quickly and maintain high levels of accuracy.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with mailroom procedures and quality assurance processes.
- Experience in troubleshooting minor equipment issues to minimize disruptions.
- Commitment to meeting deadlines and maintaining compliance with established standards.
