Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Technical Lead Engineer to take a hands-on technical role in the testing, verification, and support of electronic and RF-based equipment. This position is suited to an experienced engineer with strong practical knowledge of electronic test equipment and fundamental electronic principles.
We are primarily interested in demonstrable technical understanding, attention to detail, and the ability to work methodically to a high standard of quality.
Key Responsibilities
Test, verify, and validate electronic equipment using appropriate test methodologies
Operate and interpret results from electronic test instruments
Read, understand, and follow technical instructions, while maintaining clear personal notes and test documentation
Complete test sheets accurately and consistently to a high-quality standard
Identify faults, anomalies, and performance issues during testing
Support continuous improvement of test processes and documentation
Act as a technical reference point where appropriate, supporting colleagues
Technical Skills & Knowledge Required
Candidates should demonstrate strong practical knowledge in the following areas:
Test Equipment & Measurement
Confident use of electronic test equipment, including:
Digital Multimeters
Oscilloscopes
Spectrum Analysers
Signal Generators
Power Meters
Understanding of signal measurements and units, including dBm, dBc, and dBV
Electronics Fundamentals
Solid understanding of:
Amplifiers
Ohm’s Law
Power, voltage, current, and resistance relationships
Basic electronic component knowledge, including:
Transistors
TTL and CMOS logic
Logic inverters
Truth tables for digital logic
Mathematics & Analysis
Comfortable working with scientific notation
Ability to perform basic electrical and power calculations
Logical, structured problem-solving approach
Documentation & Quality
High level of diligence and attention to detail
Ability to accurately follow instructions while independently recording notes and test results
Commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in all technical work
Desirable (Training Can Be Provided)
Ability to read and interpret electronic circuit diagrams
Experience reading and understanding integrated circuit (IC) datasheets
Familiarity with impedance concepts (e.g. 50-ohm and 75-ohm systems)
Understanding of signal harmonics and spectral analysis
