Structured Cabling Technician – Entry Level

Location: New Albany, OH

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 1st and 2nd Shift

Overtime: OT and occasional Saturdays may be required

Experience Level: Entry Level

Job Description

We are seeking an Entry Level Structured Cabling Technician to support cabling and low voltage installation projects in a professional construction environment. This role is ideal for individuals interested in starting a career in structured cabling, telecommunications, or data center operations. The technician will work under the guidance of lead technicians while developing hands on skills and technical knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

Pull, dress, and label Cat5e and Cat6 cabling in accordance with TIA/EIA standards

Assist with RJ45 connector and patch panel terminations under supervision

Perform cable labeling and identification to support accurate documentation

Learn and perform basic punch down terminations for telecommunications blocks

Support cable testing using basic testing tools (Fluke, EXFO) with guidance

Gain exposure to fiber optic cable handling, dressing, and basic installation practices

Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment

Take direction from lead technicians, leads, and supervisors to complete daily tasks

Required Skills

Basic understanding of cable installation and low voltage systems

Willingness to learn termination and punch down techniques

Ability to work in construction environments

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions

Reliable, punctual, and team oriented

Prior construction or hands on work experience preferred

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
