Job Summary Responsible for leading the operators on their assigned shift, ensuring that the department is operated in a safe, environmentally compliant, reliable, and cost-effective manner.

This includes maximizing production and creating long-term mechanical integrity of the systems and equipment.

This position directs, develops, and manages the day-to-day activities to ensure the above stated goals are met.

Responsibilities & Duties * Embraces safety and environmental stewardship as a core value of leadership.

* Accomplish staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring and appraising job results; coaching, counseling employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies and procedures; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.

* Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems and reporting results on shift production summaries.

* Creates and revises operating parameters rounds and readings and takes necessary corrective actions to meet departmental objectives, while driving operational excellence and KPI monitoring.

* Recommends necessary changes to processes, equipment, procedures, or staffing to meet departmental objectives.

* Maintains working relationship with the Union by following the terms of collective bargaining agreement.

* Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.

* Mobilizes quickly without acting impulsively, showing good judgement.

* Develops and maintains effective relationships with other departments to obtain the required assistance in meeting departmental objectives.
