Position: Summer School Instructional Assistant (Temporary Position Only)

Monday-Friday 9am to Noon (Elementary School)

Monday-Friday 8:45am to 11:55am (Middle School)

Location: Lincoln School (Elementary School Teacher Aides)

Roosevelt School (Middle School Teacher Aides)

Date: June 11, 2026 - July 10, 2026 (No School June 19th or July 3rd)

Salary: $18/hourly

Qualifications: (a) Illinois Valid Professional Educator License; Substitute Teacher License, Short-Term Substitute License or Educator License w/Stipulations with a Paraprofessional Endorsement. (b) Successful instructional aide experience is preferred in regular education or special education

Description: The person selected for this temporary position will be responsible for assisting a classroom teacher with instructional tasks and in the general supervision of the children. This individual shall perform any combination of the following duties in the classroom to assist teaching staff: take attendance; grade (using answer sheets) and record results; duplicate materials; and, distribute teaching materials to students, such as textbooks, workbooks, paper, and other materials needed. The summer school aide will also be responsible for assisting the teacher in maintaining an orderly, safe environment within school and on school grounds.

The aide must have a warm and friendly personality, be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others, be able to relate well to children and staff, and be willing to take initiative and fulfill all responsibilities in accordance with the school's educational philosophy
