Job Description Summary: The Environmental Services Staff (EVS) Educator facilitates new departmental orientation and continuing staff education for OhioHealth EVS associates throughout the system.
The incumbent will support system level education activities through the development and revision of departmental policies/procedures, as well as assist in the design of education based on EVS standards, regulatory requirements, and OhioHealth policy.
The Environmental Services Staff (EVS) Educator will need to work effectively within OhioHealth EVS in a highly matrixed fashion with key internal and external stakeholders to the EVS department.
The incumbent is responsible for supporting the educational activities for EVS associates that promote exceptional care for OhioHealth's patients and visitors.
Responsibilities And Duties: 65% Staff Training and Education Supporting associate completion of initial and annual compliance education ICE/AC e via OhioHealth University Providing hands on instruction and demonstration of routine EVS associate responsibilities, including but not limited to discharge, occupied room cleaning, and terminal cleaning; Providing remedial and continuous performance training for associates as new processes are developed and or modified based on organizational needs Providing instruction to EVS associates to support the use of CareConnect Epi c applications 20% Curriculum and policy development Ensure EVS curriculum and policies are updated throughout the year and consistent with industry best practices 10% Accreditation, Compliance, and Regulatory Research OSHA, Joint Commission, Department of Health, Program/Site specific accreditation requirements Ensure EVS curriculum maintains full compliance with all federal, state, Joint Commission, and Program/Site specific accreditation agency requirements 5% Care Site travel to and from locations within OhioHealth's geographic footprint for the education purposes The major duties, responsibilities and listed above are not intended to be all-inclusive of the duties, responsibilities and to be performed by employees in this job.

Minimum Qualifications: High School or GED (Required) Additional Job Description: Hospital/Healthcare administration, business administration, or related field; Or High School diploma or GED and 4 years of EVS related Experience in a formal or informal leadership role; Or equivalent combination of and Experience . Instructional/educational Experience Functional ability to communicate in non-English language Thorough understanding of hospital and support services operations Understanding of surgical and procedural techniques Requirements by OSHA, Joint Commission, HFAP, Infection Control, and other agencies that govern the operations of the hospital Demonstrated project management skills and the ability to communicate complex issues and strategies.
Experience in working in multi-disciplinary teams and in complex matrix relationships.

Strong oral and written communication skills.
Effective use of personal computer technology for generating reports, trending information and creating presentations.
