Atlas Roofing Web Technologies is seeking an Assistant Plant Manager for Franklin, OH . Assistant Plant Manager Primary Responsibilities * Responsible for meeting established requirements of governmental agencies regarding current laws and regulations (EEO, OSHA, EPA, NLRB, etc.). Ensure all safety and environmental procedures are established and in practice.
* Drive reliability and continuous improvement to the manufacturing processes in support of improved KPIs (e.g., waste, unplanned downtime, process capability, schedule adherence). * Operate with an intense sense of urgency around daily execution of production fundamentals including safety, quality, and efficiency.
* Must achieve manufacturing profit objectives to meet quality and delivery requirements (Customer Service) at the lowest overall cost.
* Ensure that the process and products comply with all the necessary specifications, regulations, and standards.
* Oversee creation and maintenance of production operational manuals.
* Maintain documentation, track, and take corrective action when product performance issues occur.
* Create and sustain manufacturing and management processes through effective performance management and process efficiency evaluation.
* Work with the Plant Manager to develop and monitor production processes, process improvements, new concept development, and new equipment additions or replacements.
* Maintain and revise the acceptable inventory levels of incoming raw materials and outgoing finished goods to minimize the operational cost that best suits the demands of production scheduling.
* Work with Maintenance to set priorities for equipment and plant maintenance downs for scheduling.
* Participate in capital planning regarding plant operation, environment and growth for current year and long-term planning.
* Responsible for plant industrial personnel relations regarding the hourly workforce in meeting the policies and goals of the Division.
Ensure positive workforce relations within the plant.
Participate in Union negotiations.
* 10-15% travel to other Atlas' facilities, vendors/supplies, training, etc.
Assistant Plant Manager Experience * Minimum of ten years manufacturing experience with increasing responsibility.
* Experience in the fields of production, maintenance, engineering, safety.
* Experience with database systems and/or ERP software systems.
* Web handling experience preferred but not required.
Assistant Plant Manager Knowledge, Skills & Abilities * Ability to handle multiple time sensitive projects and issues.
Must work well under pressure.
* Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from members of management.
Assistant Plant Manager Education, Licenses & Certifications * Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent technical business degree required.
* Pulp and paper experience is highly desirable * Fundamental knowledge of process controls and equipment (e.g.
pumps, control valves, PLC logic) Assistant Plant Manager Additional Information * Organization - Must have sound organizational skills to effectively manage plant activities.
* Communication - Ability to provide relevant and timely information in a clear manner both verbally and in writing.
Able to respond to questions from employees and all levels of management.
* Follow Through - Fulfills the requirements of the position as described.
Follow-through on completion of assigned tasks in a timely manner.
Anticipates what needs to be done and proceeds without direction in a timely manner.
* Problem Solving - Ability to think through issues and develop solutions in a timely manner.
* Language - Must be able to speak fluent English.
